The most of veggies were available at nominal rates of Rs 30 to 40 per kg except prices of peas, lady finger, tinda and Shimla Mirch. Tomato is being sold at Rs 20 per kg against Rs 40 per kg, while onion is available at Rs 30 per kg against Rs 50 per kg.
Potato is available at Rs 25 per kg, cabbage Rs 30 per kg, turnip at Rs 15 per kg, cauliflower at Rs 30 per kg against Rs 40 per kg, Arvi at Rs 40 per kg against Rs 60 per kg, kado Rs 40 per kg against Rs 60 per kg, carrot at Rs 20 per kg against Rs 30 per kg, green chilli at Rs 120 per kg, ladyfinger at Rs 120 per kg from Rs 150 per kg, raddish at Rs 20 per bundle, brinjal at Rs 25 per kg against Rs 30 per kg.
Ginger commonly use for making of meal, wasn't plummet in market, as available at Rs 120-140 per kg, while garlic is being sold at Rs 160 per kg, A mix trend showed in prices of fruits during the preceding week. Apple is being sold at 100 to 150 per kg, melon at Rs 30-35 per kg against Rs 40-50 and water melon at Rs 25-35 per kg against Rs 40-45 per kg, banana at Rs 60-80 per dozen, grapes at Rs 120-150 per kg, during the past week as compared to the preceding week.
The prices of poultry products showed substantial increase during last week, as registering an increase of 30 to 40 percent. The chicken meat is being sold at Rs 166 per kg against the Rs 110 per kg, while, alive chicken is available at Rs 250-270 in retail market. Prices of Egg are also increased from Rs 110 to Rs 130 per dozen. Prices of all range of pulses registered a high side during last week without any significant change. Mash dal is being sold at Rs 120 per kg, Moong at Rs 112 per kg, Masoor dal at Rs 100 per kg, colonel rice at Rs 130 per kg, broken rice Rs 80-90 per kg, white bean at Rs 120 per kg, red bean at Rs 128 per kg, big channa Rs 110-130 per kg.
Mutton is sold at Rs 480-500 per kg, while cow meat is available at Rs 240-270 per kg. Flour is being sold at Rs 33 per kg, while the flour sac weighting 20 kg available at Rs 670 in retail market. Ghee/cooking oil and sugar prices also remained unchanged last week as compared to the preceding week. Different brands of cooking oil/ghee were available at Rs 170 to Rs 195 per kg/litre. Similarly, sugar was available at Rs 54 per kg last week.
The vegetable vendors attributed that prices have come down due to huge surplus production and supply in market. However, they said some fruits' prices registered a slight decline. Traders attributed decline in vegetables and fruits price to more supply.
